Since the 1950's three generations of the Roger family have been making these racing cyclists in their small foundry south of Paris. Each one is die-cast in zamak ( zinc alloy ) and hand-painted. In the early years women home-workers in the surrounding villages were responsible for the painting, these days its kept in house.
Each cast cyclist has a personality which is determined by the casting process and the hand painting. No two are the same.
They are supplied in a variety of coloured kits including the iconic polka dot and yellow jersey, each packed in a de-bossed kraft gift box containing a small information card. They make a perfect gift for the keen cyclist and a souvenir for fans of the Tour De France which will have three stages in the UK this July.
